About Alison

Alison Edel is 26 years old and was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is Lifemother (Birthmom) to Adrianna who is 8 years old. Adrianna’s adoption is very open and both families enjoy close contact, from visits and vacations together to emails and phonecalls. Alison is proud Mom to Cole (nine) and Reid (two), and wife to Rik. They live together along with their two cats, Spots and Mira. Alison is very passionate about many things, especially music. She has played the piano since she was 5 and continues to play at various functions as well as for personal pleasure. She has received her Diploma in Criminology and one day hopes to finish her Bachelor of Arts. For now, she enjoys being at home with her children and husband as well as being active in her community.

She has spoken at various events on her experiences with adoption as well as her experience with being a single parent. Alison is also on the board of the local drop-in centre, a Sunday school teacher to pre-teen girls, and part of the band in her church, both playing the keyboard and leading worship.
