How can I say what I really want to say
and not make you turn and leave
How I can I let you know how I feel
and yet still have you believe
That what I wanted yesterday
still holds true today
That my dreams for a little girls life
have not changed in any way
I am thankful for the closeness we had
though it was hard to say good bye
It left me with an emptiness inside
and many thoughts of just asking why
Why is it so hard
to have me in your world
We both share this in common
our love for a little girl
Maybe one day you will see
that we can be like before
I only want what is best
and I don't want any more
So for now I will step aside
and let you have your time
But know I only want what's best
for a child that once was mine
